Read Thru the Bible
Christ Community Church is excited to offer an opportunity to join in a straight read thru of the Bible. From the very first words of Genesis to the final Amen in the book of Revelation, God's Word will be read without stop.
The goal is to have enough people sign up so that as soon as one person is done reading, the next person is already there to take over the continuous reading of God's Word, even in the middle of the night.
There is something incredibly powerful about the Word of God being read in that way. There is something amazing to consider the lights of the sanctuary shining brightly in the darkness of the night in the city of Sheboygan.

how to sign up for a reading time
If you would like to sign up for a time slot to read, click on the SignUpGenius logo.
Once on the SignUpGenius page, click on "Read Thru the Bible." The page may look different depending on how your web browser displays the page.

Then, select a time that works for you! (Pro Tip: If you pick a time late at night or early in the morning, we suggest taking someone with you. Strange things happen in the middle of the night, and sometimes it's good to have someone with you, even if it's simply to pray for you as you read.)
Click "Save & Continue." You may have to scroll down to the bottom of the page. You may also have to "accept the terms and conditions" before moving on.
Type in your name and email address. (You will get an email confirmation.) After filling in your name, click "Sign Up Now."
That's it! You've signed up! If you have any questions, or need to change your time, you can go to your email confirmation, click on the "View Sign Up" and it will direct you to a link that will allow you to change or cancel your time. Scripture Reading Tips and Etiquette
If you are net reading, but are there as support, make sure the water pitcher is always full, there are cups supplied, and that the reader has water.
It is important when making the transition from one reader to the next that there is no speaking. We want God's Word to be read continuously without interruption. With this in mind, REMEMBER NOT TO announce the book or chapter as you read.
If you are a reader, and the next person comes to read, point to where you will leave off and they are to pick up. When it comes time to switch, move to the side and allow them to move into place and continue the reading.
There are many people who might love to have the opportunity to read, but did not sign up. There may also be others who are there just to support whoever is reading.
Therefore, if you have signed up to read multiple times, please give someone else the opportunity to read if they would like to. If you need a break as you are reading, just raise your hand to signify that someone else can come up and take over for you, or watch to see if someone raises his/her hand, that would like to spot you for a while.
During hours when it is difficult for people to be there (people working during the day/kids at school, or during the late night/early morning hours), where you are covering a long period of time with only two people, remember to offset each other in either 15 or 30 min. increments before coming back to read. (Make sure to have 2 people there between the hours of 10pm and 5am.)
Remember that this is not about you. Often, because of what God is doing in our own hearts as we read, there may be times when you will not want to stop reading. Do not forget, however, that this is an experience we are sharing with one another, and it is our goal to allow everyone the opportunity to receive the same joy from reading out loud that we do.
If you are in the sancuary during the reading of God's Word, you may follow along in your own Bible, or a pew Bible. It is ok to peek over the reader's shoulder to see where the reader is at.
We also would like to encourage you to use this time to pray over the city, state, country, and government. Pray that this reading of God's Word would go forth and impact the spiritual realm in these areas. Ask the Holy Spirit to carry forth His Word into the homes in our neighborhoods, and change hearts. Pray that His Word would go out into our state and federal government and pierce the hearts of our politicians. Pray that the hearts of the teenagers in our city would turn to Him.
We will do our best to notify everyone who participates when we got to the book of Revelation. We will give updates on the website and through the church app concerning where were are throughout, or if we need anyone to fill in for a reader. We would like everyone together as we read the last few chapters in Revelations in unison. It is powerful!!!
